Ministry of Economic Development, Labour and Technology

For years the Polish market has had a seasonal nature and is territorially diverse.

The seasonality means that the unemployment rate increases in the months that begin and end the year. In the spring months, we can observe a decrease in the number of registered unemployed, which is inter alia due to the beginning of seasonal work in the construction industry and due to the beginning of the tourist season. At the turn of the year, the number of unemployed grows due to the expiring employment contracts and the expiring subsidized contracts.

For years, there have been territorial variations in the unemployment in Poland. This results both from the uneven social-economic development of regions as well as from their geographic location.

Detailed information about the labour market, which are periodically prepared and published by the Department of Labour Market at the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, can be found at the website of the public employment services.
